Calligraphy & Graphology

GraphologyUnlike calligraphy which is very much an artistic expression of language and symbols, graphology is a highly developed science used in many different fields of business and psychology.  The science of Graphology is the study and analysis of handwriting in relation to human psychology. The basic premise is that certain characteristics of an individual’s nature will be expressed through their handwriting and therefore deductions can be made as to their personality.

Graphologists look at several different characteristics such as the slant of the letters, the angle of the lines on unlined paper, individual letter construction, general shape, flow and stroke of the writing and the pressure that is applied to the paper.

It is a field of science that causes much heated debate and has both supporters and detractors that continue to argue the validity of its uses as a scientific tool of measurement.  There is evidence that falls on both sides of the fence on this one and so has continued its use.  Currently there are only three locations worldwide that offer an accredited degree in graphology and they are based in the USA, Italy and Argentina.
